We see the influences these organizations have had in shaping our history and directing our future. The "Foundation" focuses on the origins of these organizations and their roots in Masonry.
James Davis, an up and coming writer and filmmaker lays out the history, heritage and legacy of the Devine 9. In Black Greek Organizations - The Foundation, He gives the audience a unique perspective as to the origins of Black Greek Organizations, and how they were derived from Black Masonry. The film contains several interviews with some of today's most prominent members of these organizations. Interviews with the likes of Shaquille O'Neal (Miami Heat), Sheryl Underwood (comedian) and others give the audience an insight into fraternity life.
Mr. Davis concludes his documentary with a very moving conversation with famed attorney Johnnie Cochran. In the final segment Mr. Cochran shares some of his found memories of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. This is the only time that Johnnie Cochran has ever discussed his affiliation with his fraternity on film.
The Foundation is a piece of work that is a long time coming! We are taught about the history of our respective Black Greek Lettered Organizations and a bit of "surface" information about the foundation of Masonry in our local Greek chapters and Masonic Lodge halls, but this goes to the "True" origin. I am truly impressed with the amount of historically detail and information contained in this work. It is also profound to know that this is the last time we see Brother Jonnie Cochran speaking about our beloved fraternity. I can hardly wait for the other parts of the trilogy.

I absolutely loved the film. I think its genius as well a project that should have been long ago released. I am not currently in an organization as we speak, but I am very interested in becoming a family member of one in particular. I have always loved the spirit of all the organizations and the film captures so much of that. Not only was it very enlightening and entertaining but it was also very informative. Its amazing how much I didn't know but I do have my homework cut out for me. Again thanks for delivering such a masterpiece. I commend the minds behind the project.
Sincerely
Ms. Red
